Sneak Peek: Stila Holiday 2011

by Jen on August 25, 2011

There’s a good reason to sign up for the mailing lists of the beauty companies that you like–sometimes they send out special announcements about upcoming products, along with advance purchase opportunities, in addition to the usual sales and discounts. Stila is one of those companies that rewards mailing list members; and if you haven’t already signed up for their Stila Love Rewards Program, I highly recommend it!

This morning’s email included a sneak peek at their holiday 2011 collection, which looks absolutely fabulous. There are four items in the collection, and each one is a great value.

  • Dream in Full Color Palette ($39)–includes 29 eye shadows, 7 cheek colors, Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Stingray, and a 16 page lookbook. This palette has a $366 value, and would definitely make a fantastic holiday gift for your favorite girlfriends.
  • Daydream Palette ($18)–includes 22 eye shadows in a compact palette. There’s a nice range of colors, from soft neutrals and highlighter shades to pretty pops of color in teal, blue, and purple.
  • Holiday Lip Glaze Set 2011 ($25) –includes eight mini lip glazes in Apricot, Kitten, Starfruit, Grapefruit, Believe, Dream, Fantasy, and┬áKaleidoscope.
  • Holiday 5-Piece Brush Set ($28)–includes Powder (#24A), Lip Color & Liner (#6), All Over Blend (#9), Domed Concealer (#33b), Eye Shadow (#5), all with medium handles.

If you want to purchase any of the new holiday items now, instead of waiting for them to show up at other outlets, you’ll have to use this special link in order to access them, since they don’t show up on Stila’s regular site. For the best deal, you’ll want to take advantage of the following offers:

  • Start at eBates (affiliate link) and get 6% cash back on your purchase
  • Orders over $50 automatically get free shipping
  • Order $70 and use the code MUPLAYER at checkout for a free Makeup Player with your purchase; it’s a black makeup case with an iPod connection and portable speakers, plus a large mirror.

Both of the palettes in this collection remind me of last year’s Color Wheel palettes, but with a wider color selection and much better packaging. I really liked the old palettes, but they were much larger than they needed to be considering how much product there was in all that packaging. I won’t know for sure until I receive the order I placed today, but it looks like the new Dream palettes are much smaller, because the shadows are packed more closely together, and that they’re in plastic containers, not cardboard.

I’ll be posting lots of photos as soon as I receive my order. Stila usually ships very fast, so I expect to receive them in about a week.
